Learn about all the Treasure items in Sea of Thieves, including chests and artifacts. Discover how to find, transport, and sell them to Trading Companies for Gold, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
Walkthrough
- 1Finding Treasure: Treasure can be found randomly on islands, floating in shipwrecks, inside fort vaults, or obtained through Voyages. Enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, and the Kraken may also drop treasure. Treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, making them visible from a distance.
- 2Carrying Treasure: Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company Representative at an Outpost. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or fight while carrying treasure. Dropping the treasure allows full control. Harpoons can be used to retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be placed in Container Chests (holding up to 3 items) to hide their glow.
- 3Treasure Lifespan: Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates which float longer.
- 4Emissary Value: Sailing as a Trading Company Emissary and picking up relevant treasure grants Emissary Grade Reputation. Additional reputation is gained when the treasure is claimed for the first time and placed on the ship.
- 5Trading Companies: Each Trading Company values specific types of Treasure. Representatives at every Outpost accept these treasures for Gold, Doubloons, Reputation, and Emissary Value.
Types of Treasure:
- Gold Hoarders Treasure: Items sold to the Gold Hoarders. These include Treasure Chests and Artefacts.
- Treasure Chests: Unbreakable chests sold to Gold Hoarders. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests. They emit a White Glint.
- Artefacts: Smaller items found throughout the seas, in chests, or fortress vaults. Types include Regular Artefacts (emitting a Golden Glint), Ashen Artefacts, Stronghold Artefacts, and Skeletal Artefacts.
