This enigmatic trading company deals in the acquisition of cursed skulls and the pursuit of notorious pirate captains, rewarding loyal members with gold and reputation.

The Order of Souls is one of the three primary Trading Companies available at the start of your Sea of Thieves journey. Unlike the Gold Hoarders who seek treasure chests, or the Merchant Alliance who deal in cargo, the Order of Souls focuses on hunting down bounties, primarily spectral captains and their skeletal crews. Their quests involve deciphering clues to locate these spectral targets and defeating them to retrieve their cursed skulls.

How to Join and Progress:

1. Find the Order of Souls: Representatives of the Order of Souls can be found at most Outposts, typically on a dedicated stall or ship. They are usually identifiable by their distinctive attire and the skull motifs associated with their company.
2. Acquire a Bounty Voyage: Speak to the Order of Souls representative and purchase a 'Bounty Voyage'. These voyages will task you with hunting down specific pirate captains or groups of skeletons.
3. The Bounty Map: Upon acquiring a voyage, you'll receive a map that details the general region where your target can be found. This map often contains a series of riddles or clues that you must decipher to pinpoint the exact island and location of your bounty.
4. Island Exploration and Combat: Sail to the indicated island and follow the clues. You'll often encounter waves of skeletons, including tougher variants like armored skeletons or skeleton captains, as you progress through the clues.
5. The Target: The final stage of the voyage involves confronting and defeating the main bounty target – usually a spectral pirate captain. These captains have unique attack patterns and can be challenging.
6. Retrieve the Cursed Skull: Once the bounty target is defeated, they will drop a unique 'Bounty Skull'. This skull is the primary item you need to return to the Order of Souls representative.
7. Sell the Bounty Skull: Return to any Outpost and sell the collected Bounty Skull to the Order of Souls representative. The rarer the skull (indicated by its color and glow), the more gold and reputation you will earn.

Reputation and Ranks:

As you complete voyages and sell bounty skulls, your reputation with the Order of Souls will increase. This progression unlocks higher-tier voyages with more challenging targets and greater rewards. Reaching certain reputation milestones will also unlock unique cosmetic items themed around the Order of Souls, such as their distinctive clothing and ship cosmetics.
