Walkthrough
  1. 1
Treasure can be found randomly across the Sea of Thieves, including on islands, in shipwrecks, and within forts. Some treasure is guarded by enemies like Skeleton Ships, Megalodons, or the Kraken.
  2. 2
All treasure items emit a colored glint or glow, allowing players to identify them from a distance.
  3. 3
Treasure must be carried by hand to a Trading Company representative. A pirate can only carry one item at a time and cannot use equipment or resources while carrying treasure.
  4. 4
Players can use a Harpoon to retrieve treasure from afar. Smaller items can be placed in Container Chests, which hold up to 3 items and hide their glow.
  5. 5
Treasure left on land remains until interacted with. Treasure dropped in water sinks after approximately 5 minutes, except for Trade Good Crates.
  6. 6
As Trading Company Emissaries, picking up relevant treasure increases Emissary Grade Reputation, with additional gains when the treasure is placed on the ship.
Tips
  • Treasure items are categorized by the Trading Company that buys them: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance.
  • Within these companies, treasure can have Regular, Ashen, Stronghold, Skeletal, or Ghostly variants.
  • Gold Hoarders accept Treasure Chests, which are locked and sold to them for their contents. They emit a White Glint. Types include Regular, Shipwrecked, Coral, Ashen, Valuable, and Cursed Treasure Chests.
  • Artefacts are smaller items found on their own, in chests, or in fortress vaults. They emit a Golden Glint and include Trinkets, Containers, and Ornaments.
