In the world of Sea of Thieves, your pirate's appearance is a statement. The game boasts an extensive collection of cosmetic items that allow players to truly customize their look, from head to toe, and extend that personalization to their ship and equipment. These vanity items are a core part of You experience, offering a way to stand out, showcase achievements, and express personal style without impacting combat effectiveness or gameplay balance.

Types of Cosmetics:

• Pirate Cosmetics: This includes clothing (hats, jackets, shirts, gloves, trousers, shoes), accessories (eyepatches, scars, tattoos, beards), hairstyles, and makeup.
• Ship Cosmetics: Customize your ship with figureheads, sails, hull art, wheel dess, capstan skins, cannons, and even unique ship's bells and flags.
• Weapon & Equipment Cosmetics: Personalize your cutlass, pistol, blunderbuss, eye patch, hook, pegleg, and other tools with unique skins and dess.
• Pet Cosmetics: If you have a companion parrot or cat, you can also purchase cosmetic outfits for them.

Acquiring Cosmetics:

Cosmetics can be obtained through several avenues:

• The Pirate Emporium: This in-game shop offers a wide selection of premium cosmetic items, purchasable with Ancient Coins (a premium currency). Many of these are themed sets or unique dess.
• Outpost Shops: Various shops located on the game's Outposts sell a rotating selection of cosmetics using Gold, the in-game currency earned through gameplay.
• Trading Company Rewards: As you increase your reputation with Trading Companies, you'll unlock exclusive cosmetic items tied to their themes.
• Tall Tale Rewards: Completing specific Tall Tales and their associated commendations often grants unique cosmetic items.
• Time-Limited Events & Promotions: Special events and seasonal rewards can offer exclusive cosmetics that may not be available at other times.
• Twitch Drops & Promotions: Occasionally, cosmetic items can be earned through watching Sea of Thieves streams on Twitch or participating in other promotional events.

Vanity Chests & Ship Customization:

At any Outpost, you'll find a Vanity Chest where you can change your pirate's appearance using the cosmetics you've unlocked. Similarly, the Shipwright at any Outpost allows you to apply your purchased ship cosmetics to your current vessel. Remember that ship customizations are applied per ship session; you'll need to reapply them if you switch ships or start a new game.
