Void Fissures and Refinement

Learn how to acquire Prime gear in Warframe by mastering Void Fissures and Refinement. Collect Reactant and open Void Relics for rare blueprints.

Void Fissures are your primary gateway to acquiring Prime Warframe and Weapon Blueprints, along with Forma Blueprints and Ducats. This system involves opening Void Relics by collecting Reactant during Fissure missions. Mastering this process, especially the refinement aspect, is crucial for efficient Prime part farming.

Understanding Void Relics

Void Relics are categorized by Era: Lith, Meso, Neo, and Axi. Each era contains a distinct pool of Prime parts. You can acquire Relics through various activities:

• Void Missions: Specific missions in the Void (e.g., Hepit, Teshub) are excellent for farming Lith and Meso Relics.
• Fissure Missions: Completing Fissure missions themselves can drop Relics of the same era.
• Syndicate Offerings: Maxing out standing with Syndicates allows you to purchase Relic Packs, which contain a random assortment of Relics.
• Bounties: Certain open-world bounties (e.g., Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallis, Cambion Drift) reward specific Relics.
• Disruption Missions: Successfully defending all conduits in Disruption missions often rewards Relics.

Before starting a Fissure mission, you must select a Void Relic from your inventory. The rarity of the items within a Relic is indicated by their color: Common (Bronze), Uncommon (Silver), and Rare (Gold).

Running Void Fissure Missions

To access Void Fissure missions, navigate to the Star Chart and look for the swirling orange Fissure icons on various planets. These missions rotate regularly, offering different mission types (e.g., Exterminate, Capture, Defense, Survival) and Relic eras.

1. Select a Fissure Mission: Choose a mission that corresponds to the Era of the Relic you wish to open (e.g., a Lith Fissure for a Lith Relic).
2. Equip a Void Relic: Before starting the mission, you will be prompted to select one of your Void Relics.
3. Collect Reactant: During the mission, enemies will occasionally become "Corrupted" by the Void. Defeating these Corrupted enemies will drop Reactant. You need to collect 10 Reactant to successfully open your Relic at the end of the mission. A counter on your HUD tracks your current Reactant.
4. Mission Completion: Complete the primary objective of the mission. Once you have 10 Reactant and the objective is done, your Relic will crack open.
5. Reward Selection: At the mission's end, you and your squadmates will each see the contents of your opened Relics. You can then choose one item from the pool of all opened Relics in your squad. This is where strategic play comes in – if a squadmate opens a rare item you need, you can choose it even if your Relic didn't drop it.

Relic Refinement: Maximizing Your Chances

Refinement is a critical step to increase your odds of obtaining rarer Prime parts. By spending Void Traces, you can upgrade your Relics, improving the drop chance of Uncommon and Rare items while decreasing the chance of Common items.

What are Void Traces?

Void Traces are a resource obtained by successfully completing Void Fissure missions. You receive a certain amount of Void Traces (typically 6-30) upon mission completion, regardless of whether you opened a Relic or not. Your maximum Void Trace capacity increases with your Mastery Rank.

Refinement Tiers:

You can refine a Relic at any Orbiter segment (e.g., Navigation, Arsenal) or in the Relic selection screen before a Fissure mission. The refinement tiers are:

• Intact (0 Void Traces): Default state. Lowest chance for rare items.
• Exceptional (25 Void Traces): Improved chances for Uncommon and Rare.
• Flawless (50 Void Traces): Significantly improved chances for Uncommon and Rare.
• Radiant (100 Void Traces): Best possible chances for Uncommon and Rare, with a 10% chance for the Rare item.

Refinement Strategy:

• Farm Common Parts Intact: If you're specifically looking for a Common Prime part, run the Relic Intact to save Void Traces.
• Radiant for Rare Parts: Always refine a Relic to Radiant if you are actively hunting for its Rare drop. This is especially true when playing with a squad where everyone is running Radiant versions of the same Relic, as it drastically increases the collective chance of the rare item appearing.
• Exceptional/Flawless for Uncommon: If an Uncommon part is your target, Exceptional or Flawless refinement can be a good balance between cost and improved odds.
• Squad Synergy: Communicate with your squad! If everyone brings a Radiant Relic for a specific rare part, your chances of getting it are much higher. Consider using recruiting chat (e.g., "H [WTS] Axi A1 Radiant for Volt Prime Neuroptics") to find like-minded players.

Ducats and Baro Ki'Teer

Any Prime part you acquire that you don't need can be converted into Ducats at any Relay. Simply visit a Ducat Kiosk, select the Prime parts you wish to sell, and confirm. Ducats are the currency used to purchase exclusive items from the Void Trader, Baro Ki'Teer, who appears at a random Relay every two weeks. Baro offers unique Prime Mods, cosmetics, weapons, and resources, making Ducat farming an important endgame activity.
