Discover hidden Fragments in Warframe to unlock lore, artwork, and audio transmissions. Learn about Cephalon, Fish, Glass, and more Fragment types across the Origin System.
Fragments are hidden items scattered throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Collecting them unlocks written and audiovisual lore that expands upon the game's setting.
Mechanics:
Most Fragments can be scanned using a Codex or Synthesis Scanner. This unlocks artwork in the Codex's Universe tab, which can also be used as Orbiter decorations. Each image has a hidden point that, when hovered over with the cursor, unlocks a short audio transmission with additional lore. An audio clue of white noise will help locate this point, becoming louder as the cursor approaches.
Other Fragment types require direct interaction (default X) to acquire.

These Fragments are ordered by their release date.
Cephalon Fragments:
Cephalon Fragments are data pieces found throughout the Origin System, typically in mission rooms, appearing as hovering blue data blocks. Most planets, moons, and locations have 2-3 unlockable fragments, each requiring 3-7 scans. They may appear on the mini-map as a blue quadruple diamond with loot radar mods. Scanning unlocks associated artwork and lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets. Decrypting these fragments reveals Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis.
Cephalon Fragments List:
- Earth: Requires 3 scans. Lore details Earth's abandonment, toxic atmosphere, mutated jungles, and scavenger activity. Ordis' transmission speaks of hiding his existence from the Operator and himself, and the pain of knowing.
- Wildlife (Earth): Requires 3 scans. Lore discusses the origin of Warframe wildlife from Orokin-manipulated Earth creatures, their survival and adaptation after the Orokin's demise. Ordis' transmission questions his nature as a machine that can think, a forbidden concept by the Orokin.
- Earth Settlements: Requires 3 scans. Lore describes Grineer settlements in Earth's forests, their struggle to maintain water reserves, and outposts overtaken by vegetation. Ordis' transmission states his service to the Operator defines him with love, despite being a machine made by the Orokin, calling himself a Cephalon.
- Venus: Requires 3 scans. Lore mentions Corpus industry in Venus's mountains, their superstructures built near lingering Orokin technologies that moderate surface temperatures. Ordis' transmission questions what a Cephalon is, a forbidden thinking machine, yet he has flaws and phantom memories, feeling like a ghost or abomination.
