Discover how to find and scan various Fragments in Warframe to unlock hidden lore, artwork, and audio transmissions that flesh out the Origin System's rich narrative.
Fragments are hidden collectibles scattered throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Scanning or interacting with these fragments unlocks pieces of lore, artwork, and audio transmissions that deepen your understanding of the game's universe.
Mechanics:
Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. This process unlocks artwork in the Codex's Universe tab, which can also be used as Orbiter decorations. Each unlocked image has accompanying lore. Additionally, a hidden point on each image, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission with more lore. Audio clues, like white noise that intensifies as you get closer, help locate these points. Other Fragment types require direct interaction (default key 'X') to collect.
Fragments:
These Fragments are categorized and ordered by their release date:
- Cephalon Fragments: Found as hovering blue data blocks in missions across the Origin System (except Kuva Fortress). Each planet, moon, or location has 2-3 fragments requiring 3-7 scans. They appear on the mini-map with loot radar mods and reveal lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets. Decrypting them reveals Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis. They do not spawn in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.
