Fragments are hidden collectibles scattered throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Collecting and scanning these fragments unlocks artwork and audio transmissions that provide deeper insights into the game's lore, characters, and setting. They can be scanned using the Codex or Synthesis Scanner, or interacted with directly.

Mechanics:

• Fragments can be scanned with a Codex or Synthesis Scanner to unlock artwork in the Codex's Universe tab.
• The unlocked artwork can be used as decoration on the Orbiter and comes with accompanying lore.
• A hidden point on each image, when hovered over with the cursor, unlocks a short audio transmission with additional lore. White noise serves as an audio clue for this point.
• Some Fragments require direct interaction (default X) to acquire.

Types of Fragments:

• Cephalon Fragments: Blue, hovering data blocks found in missions. They reveal lore about the Origin System, Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypt to reveal Ordis' Past. They typically require 3-7 scans and can be found on most planets, moons, and locations, but not in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.
