- 1Locate Fragments: Fragments appear as hovering data blocks (Cephalon Fragments) or other interactable objects in various mission types. They may appear on the mini-map as a blue quadruple diamond if loot radar mods are equipped.
- 2Scan or Interact: Most Fragments require scanning with a Codex or Synthesis Scanner. Some types require simple interaction (default key 'X').
- 3Unlock Lore: Scanning a Fragment unlocks artwork in the Codex under the 'Universe' tab. Hovering over a hidden point on the artwork reveals an audio transmission with additional lore. Interacting with other Fragment types directly grants their lore.
- 4Collect All Types: There are various types of Fragments, including Cephalon, Thousand-Year Fish, Glass Shard, Encrypted Journal, Nakak Memory, Fortuna, Partnership, The Tenets, Lost Islands of Duviri, Albrecht's Notes, Isleweaver, Somachord, and Frame Fighter Fragments.
