Discover how to find and scan Fragments in Warframe to unlock hidden lore, artwork, and audio transmissions that flesh out the Origin System's rich backstory. Learn about different Fragment types.

Fragments are hidden collectibles scattered throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Scanning or interacting with these Fragments unlocks written and audiovisual lore, providing deeper insights into the game's setting, characters, and history. These unlocked pieces can be viewed in the Codex and used as decorations on the Orbiter.

Mechanics:

Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. Successfully scanning a Fragment unlocks a piece of artwork in the Codex's Universe tab, accompanied by lore text. Additionally, a hidden point on each image, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission containing further lore. An audio clue in the form of white noise, which intensifies as the cursor approaches the point, helps locate this hidden spot. Other types of Fragments require direct interaction (default 'X' key) to collect.

Fragments are categorized by their release and type, with each offering unique lore. Some notable types include:
