Understanding Damage Types and Factions

Scanning Fragments: Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex or Synthesis Scanner. This unlocks artwork in the Codex's 'Universe' tab, which can also be used as decoration on your Orbiter.

Audio Lore: Each unlocked image has a hidden point that, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission with additional lore. A white noise clue will help you find this point, growing louder as you get closer.

Interaction Fragments: Some Fragments do not require scanning and can be acquired by simply interacting with them (default key 'X').

Fragment Types: There are various types of Fragments, including Cephalon Fragments, Thousand-Year Fish Fragments, Glass Shard Fragments, Encrypted Journal Fragments, Nakak Memory Fragments, Fortuna Fragments, Partnership Fragments, The Tenets Fragments, Duviri Fragments, Albrecht's Notes, Isleweaver Fragments, Somachord Fragments, and Frame Fighter Fragments.

Cephalon Fragments: These appear as hovering blue data blocks and are found in various missions across the Origin System. They typically require 3-7 scans to complete and reveal lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets, often narrated by Ordis, detailing his past. They do not spawn in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.

Fragment Locations: Fragments are released chronologically and can be found on planets like Earth, Venus, and in locations such as the Kuva Fortress, Void, and Deimos. Each location generally has 2-3 unlockable fragments.
