Codex

Scanning Fragments: Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. This unlocks artwork in the 'Universe' tab of your Codex, which can be used as Orbiter decorations and comes with accompanying lore.

Audio Transmissions: Within the unlocked artwork, a hidden point can be hovered over with the cursor to reveal a short audio transmission containing additional lore. White noise serves as an audio clue, growing louder as you approach the point.

Interaction Fragments: Some Fragments do not require scanning and can be acquired by simply interacting with them (default key 'X').

Cephalon Fragments: These appear as hovering blue data blocks, often found in rooms during missions. They are located on most planets, moons, and locations in the Origin System (except Kuva Fortress), with 2-3 fragments per location, each requiring 3-7 scans. They reveal lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypting them reveals 'Ordis' Past', narrated by Ordis. They appear as a blue quadruple diamond on the mini-map with loot radar mods. They do not spawn in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.

Fragment Types: The source text lists various types of Fragments, including Cephalon, Thousand-Year Fish, Glass Shard, Encrypted Journal, Nakak Memory, Fortuna, Partnership (Corpus Gas City), The Tenets (Corpus Ship), Lost Islands of Duviri, Albrecht's Notes, Isleweaver, Somachord, and Frame Fighter Fragments. Each type has unique lore and collection methods.
