Critical hits are a fundamental mechanic in Warframe that significantly increase your damage output. Understanding how they work is key to optimizing your combat effectiveness.

What is a Critical Hit?

A critical hit is an attack that deals bonus damage. The amount of bonus damage is determined by your weapon's Critical Damage multiplier. The chance of landing a critical hit is determined by your weapon's Critical Chance stat.

Critical Chance

Every weapon in Warframe has a base Critical Chance percentage. This can be increased through mods, certain Warframe abilities, and other buffs. When your Critical Chance reaches 100% or higher, every shot will be a critical hit.

Critical Damage

Weapons also have a base Critical Damage multiplier. This multiplier determines how much extra damage a critical hit deals. For example, a 2x Critical Damage multiplier means a critical hit will deal double the normal damage.

Maximizing Critical Hits

To maximize your critical hit potential:

• Equip mods that increase Critical Chance and Critical Damage.
• Utilize Warframe abilities that boost critical stats.
• Focus on weapons with high base Critical Chance and Critical Damage.
