Scanning Fragments: Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. This unlocks artwork in the Codex's 'Universe' tab, which can also be used as Orbiter decorations.

Audio Lore: Each unlocked image has a hidden point that, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission with additional lore. White noise will increase in volume as you get closer to this point.

Interaction Fragments: Some Fragments do not require scanning and can be acquired by simply interacting with them (default key: X).

Fragment Types: There are various types of Fragments, including Cephalon Fragments, Thousand-Year Fish Fragments, Glass Shard Fragments, Ghoul Fragments, Revenant Fragments, Solaris United Fragments, Partnership Fragments, The Tenets Fragments, Duviri Fragments, Albrecht Fragments, Isleweaver Fragments, Somachord Fragments, and Frame Fighter Fragments. Each type may have unique collection methods or lore content.

Cephalon Fragments: These appear as hovering blue data blocks during missions. They are typically found in random locations on most planets and moons, excluding Defense, Interception, and Archwing missions. Each fragment requires a specific number of scans (3-7) to unlock. Decrypting these reveals lore about the Origin System, factions, characters, and planets, often narrated by Ordis, detailing his past.

Location-Specific Fragments: Many fragments are tied to specific locations like Earth, Venus, or the Corpus Gas City, each offering unique lore related to that area and its inhabitants.
