Learn how to find and scan Conservation Fragments in Warframe to unlock hidden lore and artwork. Discover their locations and mechanics.

Fragments are hidden items found throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Scanning or interacting with them unlocks written and audiovisual lore that expands on the game's setting. These fragments can be found in various locations and often require a Codex or Synthesis Scanner. Some fragments unlock artwork for your Orbiter, while others provide audio transmissions with additional lore.

Mechanics:

  • Most Fragments can be scanned with a Codex or Synthesis Scanner to unlock artwork in the Codex's Universe tab.
  • These unlocked images can be used as decorations on your Orbiter and come with accompanying lore.
  • A hidden point on each image, when hovered over, unlocks a short audio transmission that narrates additional lore. White noise serves as an audio clue for this point.
  • Other types of Fragments require direct interaction (default X) to acquire.

Cephalon Fragments

Cephalon Fragments are data fragments found throughout the Origin System, typically in mission rooms, visualized as hovering blue data blocks. Most planets, moons, and locations have 2-3 unlockable fragments, each requiring 3-7 scans. They appear as a blue quadruple diamond on the mini-map with loot radar mods. Scanning them unlocks artwork and lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets. Decrypting these fragments reveals Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis.

  • Earth: Fragments reveal lore about Earth's abandoned state, its wildlife, and Grineer settlements. Ordis' transmissions touch upon his hidden truth, his existence as a machine, and his service to the Operator.
  • Venus: Fragments detail the Corpus' industrious craft in Venus' mountainous peaks and their use of lingering Orokin technologies. Ordis questions his identity as a Cephalon, a forbidden entity.
