Fragments are pieces of hidden lore scattered throughout the Origin System.

Scanning most Fragments with a Codex or Synthesis Scanner unlocks artwork in the Codex and accompanying lore.

A hidden point on the artwork, indicated by white noise that gets louder as you approach, unlocks a short audio transmission with more lore.

Some Fragments require direct interaction (default X) instead of scanning.

Fragments are categorized into various types, including Cephalon, Fish, Glass, Ghoul, Revenant, Solaris United, Partnership, The Tenets, Duviri, Albrecht, Isleweaver, Somachord, and Frame Fighter Fragments.

Cephalon Fragments are data blocks found during missions, typically requiring 3-7 scans. They reveal lore about the Origin System, Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypt to reveal Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis.

Cephalon Fragments appear as blue quadruple diamonds on the mini-map with loot radar mods.

They can be found once per mission in random locations, but not in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.

Specific examples of Cephalon Fragments are provided for Earth (lore about its abandonment, wildlife, and Grineer settlements) and Venus (lore about Corpus settlements). Each example includes the planet/region, scans required, fragment lore, and Ordis' transmission.
