Mechanics: Most Fragments can be scanned using a Codex or Synthesis Scanner. Scanning unlocks artwork in the Codex's Universe tab, which can be used as Orbiter decorations and come with accompanying lore. A hidden point on each image, identified by white noise, unlocks a short audio transmission with additional lore. Other Fragment types require direct interaction (default key: X).

Cephalon Fragments: These blue data blocks are found in most planets, moons, and locations (including the Void and Deimos), typically hidden in rooms during missions. Each location has 2-3 fragments requiring 3-7 scans. They appear as a blue quadruple diamond on the mini-map with loot radar mods. They are not found in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions. Scanning them unlocks lore about the Origin System's Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypting them reveals Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis.

Fragment 2: Requires 3 scans. Lore: Modern wildlife is traced back to Earth's Orokin-era manipulated creatures, some of which survived and adapted after the Orokin perished. Ordis Transmission: Questions his own nature, pondering how a machine can think and if this is forbidden by the Orokin.

Fragment 3: Requires 3 scans. Lore: The Grineer maintain water reserves beneath Earth's forests, with their outposts overgrown by vegetation. Ordis Transmission: States his service to the Operator defines him with love, despite being an Orokin-created aware machine, a spirit of steel and light.
