Fragments are found throughout missions in the Origin System.

Most Fragments can be scanned using a Codex or Synthesis Scanner.

Scanning unlocks artwork in the Codex's Universe tab, which can be used as Orbiter decorations.

Each unlocked image has accompanying lore text.

A hidden point on each image, when hovered over with the cursor, unlocks a short audio transmission with additional lore. Audio clues (white noise) help locate this point.

Some Fragments only require interaction (default X) to acquire.

Fragments are categorized by their release date and type, including Cephalon, Fish, Glass, Ghoul, Revenant, Solaris United, Partnership, The Tenets, Duviri, Albrecht, Isleweaver, Somachord, and Frame Fighter Fragments.

Cephalon Fragments are visualized as hovering blue data blocks and are typically found in rooms during missions. They reveal information about Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypting them reveals Ordis' Past.

Cephalon Fragments appear on the mini-map with loot radar mods as a blue quadruple diamond.

They can spawn once per mission in random locations, except in Defense, Interception, and Archwing missions.

Each navigable planet, moon, or location has 2-3 unlockable Cephalon Fragments, requiring 3-7 scans each.
