Uncover the hidden lore of Warframe by finding and scanning Fragments. Learn about Cephalon, Fish, Glass, Ghoul, and more types of lore fragments scattered throughout the Origin System.

Fragments are hidden collectibles found throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Scanning or interacting with these fragments unlocks written and audiovisual lore, providing deeper insights into the game's setting, characters, and history. These unlocked pieces can be viewed in the Codex and some can even be used as decorations on your Orbiter.

Mechanics:

Most Fragments can be scanned using a Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. Successfully scanning a Fragment unlocks accompanying artwork and lore in the Codex's Universe tab. Many of these images can also be used as decorations on your Orbiter. Additionally, a hidden point on each image, when hovered over with the cursor, unlocks a short audio transmission that narrates further lore. An audio clue, in the form of white noise that gets louder as the cursor approaches the point, helps locate this hidden point.

Other types of Fragments do not require scanning; players simply need to interact with them (default key: X) to acquire them.

Types of Fragments:

  • Cephalon Fragments: Found in rooms during missions, visualized as hovering blue data blocks. Scanning them reveals lore about the Origin System, Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypting them reveals Ordis' Past. They can appear on most planets and moons, but not in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.
