Fragments are hidden collectibles found throughout the Origin System in Warframe. Scanning or interacting with them unlocks written and audiovisual lore, providing deeper insights into the game's universe, characters, and history. These fragments can be found on various planets, moons, and locations, and are categorized into different types, such as Cephalon Fragments, Fish Fragments, Glass Fragments, and more.
Mechanics:
Most Fragments can be scanned using a Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. Successfully scanning a fragment unlocks artwork in the Codex's 'Universe' tab, which can also be used as Orbiter decorations. Each image has a hidden point that, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission containing additional lore. An audio clue, like white noise that intensifies as you get closer, helps locate this point. Other Fragment types require direct interaction (default X key) to acquire.
Fragments:
These Fragments are organized by their release date and include various types:
- Cephalon Fragments: Data fragments visualized as hovering blue data blocks, found in mission rooms. They reveal lore about the Origin System's factions, characters, and planets, and decrypting them unlocks Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis. They can be found on most planets, moons, and locations (except Kuva Fortress), with 2-3 fragments per location, requiring 3-7 scans each. They appear on the mini-map with loot radar mods as a blue quadruple diamond. They do not spawn in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.
