Complete The Tarrey Town Race Is On! side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Learn how to build a vehicle, beat the time limit, and get your rewards.
Alright, so you've finished the 'Master the Vehicle Prototype' quest, right? Good! Now, if you need to rest up and make sure it's daytime, head to South Akkala Stable. Once that's done, find Fernison again. She's got another fun little challenge for us: a race!
- 1Where to Start: Find Fernison after completing 'Master the Vehicle Prototype'. She'll want you to test out a new race course.
- 2Vehicle Rules: You can build any vehicle you want, but you MUST use the Steering Stick. There are parts nearby you can use, or you can grab stuff from your inventory.
- 3Building Your Ride: The simplest four-wheeled setup works great. Big Wheels give you stability, Small Wheels make you faster. Just make sure those wheels are facing the right way! Attach the Steering Stick, and you'll get the prompt to start the race.
- 4The Race Itself: This race has more lights to drive through than the last one. Remember, you can't let go of the steering stick, and you can't go too far off course. There are six lights to hit, plus the one at the start/finish line.
- 5Beat the Clock: You have two minutes to finish. It sounds tight, but it's plenty of time if you don't mess up.
- 6Reward: Finish within the two-minute time limit, and Fernison will give you 3x Zonai Charges. Quest complete!
Expert Course: After you finish the main quest, you can talk to Fernison again to do more races. They cost 10 Rupees each. The Expert Course is the same, just with more lights. Beat it in under three minutes for a Large Zonai Charge. If you set a new record, you'll get another Large Zonai Charge!
- Don't overthink the vehicle build. Simple is often best.
- Pay attention to the wheel direction when attaching them.
- The two-minute time limit is generous, so focus on staying on course.
