What Are Bubbul Frogs?

Alright, so you're exploring Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and you've probably stumbled into a few caves already. Keep an eye out for these big, glowing blue frogs clinging to walls or ceilings. They're not gonna attack you, but you absolutely want to take them down as soon as you spot one. Why? Because they drop a super important new collectible: Bubbul Gems!

You'll likely run into your first one pretty early on, maybe in The Mining Cave or the Pit Cave on the Great Sky Island.

Where to Find and How to Take Down Bubbul Frogs

Bubbul Frogs are pretty much exclusive to caves. Not every single cave will have one, though. The best way to know if a cave is hiding a frog is to clear it out first. Once you've dealt with all the monsters and grabbed any treasure chests, check your map. If a little checkmark pops up next to the cave's name, you've found everything. If there's no checkmark, it means there's something else in there – likely a Bubbul Frog hiding!

These guys can be sneaky, often hiding behind breakable rocks. So, if you've cleared a cave and don't see a frog, make sure to smash any suspicious-looking rocks.

Once you've located a Bubbul Frog, you'll need to hit it with a thrown weapon or your bow to knock it down. They don't need much damage to be defeated. Honestly, if you have a Fire Fruit and use it with your bow, you can probably one-shot them! After you defeat one, it'll drop a Bubbul Gem.
