The gap is pretty wide, so you'll need to attach these two logs together to make a longer bridge. Use Ultrahand to attach some logs together, then stick one of the Zonai Fans onto the back. This will be your makeshift raft! You can use Ultrahand to rotate it and aim for the side platform where the chest is.

Chest and Reward:

Before you head to the altar, make sure to grab the chest off to the side. Inside, you'll find a Spiky Shield (2 Defense).
Once you've got that, head to the altar to claim your Light of Blessing.
