Learn Farosh and Naydra's flight paths in Zelda: TOTK. Farosh is a lightning dragon; Naydra is an ice dragon. Find out where to farm dragon parts.

Farosh’s flight pattern takes them out of the East Gerudo and into Faron across Lake Hylia. It seems to circle this route every 15 minutes. Farosh will travel this path before returning to The Depths by using the Hills of Baumer Chasm. The easiest place to catch Farosh is at the exit point of East Gerudo Chasm, near the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, or by catching it as it crosses Lake Hylia by using the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to launch yourself onto the sky island above the lake.

Farosh is the lighting dragon, so you want to put on lighting-resistant armor and remove any metal weapons, bows, or shields from Link. This will keep lighting from striking you as you harvest dragon parts.

Naydra is an easy dragon to harvest as they emerge from The Depths right below the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower at the Naydra Snowfield Chasm. This is the easiest place to catch Naydra, but you can also use Ebon Mountain to your advantage. Naydra seems to be on a 15-minute loop just like Farosh is.

The region around Naydra is always cold, so you will need to use dishes and armor to keep Link warm, just having the Archaic Trousers won’t be enough. Naydra itself is an ice dragon, so the area around it is cold as well.

The Light Dragon is a bit different from the other three dragons and is new to Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The dragon circles the surface of Hyrule, never going in or out of The Depths. Due to this, the dragon is always able to be seen from the surface of Hyrule, and can be harvested easier than the other three.

Unlike the other dragons, the Light Dragon’s path takes an extremely long time since it goes all over Hyrule. We timed it at around 2 hours. This equates to around 5 in-game days. If you ride the dragon for the entire path (not recommended unless you’re very bored), you can farm its materials up to 5 times!

Another thing to note: the Light Dragon travels near all of the Dragon’s Tears. So if you know where the tears are, you can try spotting the dragon from there. On the flip side, if you’re unsure where a Dragon’s Tear is, you could ride on top of the dragon and scout out the tears from high up.

Finally, depending on your story progress, it can be trivial to find the Light Dragon. If you set the main story quest Recovering the Hero’s Sword as the active quest, the destination marker will point straight towards the Light Dragon. If you haven’t unlocked this quest yet or already completed it, this won’t be possible, of course.

The Light Dragon circles around Hyrule, but never goes into The Depths.

Tips
  • For Farosh, wear lightning-resistant armor and unequip metal gear to avoid lightning strikes.
  • The easiest place to find Naydra is below the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower.
  • The Light Dragon's path takes approximately 2 hours (5 in-game days) to complete its full circuit of Hyrule.
  • The Light Dragon passes near all Dragon's Tears, making it useful for locating them or scouting from above.
  • If the Recovering the Hero’s Sword quest is active, its marker will point to the Light Dragon.
