Learn how to navigate the sandstorm, find Gerudo Town, and enter the Gerudo Sanctuary in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Includes shrine activation and quest progression.
Once you reach Kara Kara Bazaar, your next goal will be to cross the Desert Rift to the southwest. The entire area between Kara Kara Bazaar and Gerudo Town is engulfed in a ceaseless sandstorm, which cuts visibility and obscures your minimap. To navigate this, head southwest into the sandstorm until you reach the Desert Rift. Ignore any enemies you encounter. At the rift, turn left and follow the chasm until it ends, then work your way around it and continue southwest. Keep an eye out for an upswell of hot air on your left. Jump into this upswell and use your Paraglider to ride the air currents. Scan the sky for the green glow of a shrine, which marks the top of Gerudo Town's highest building.
Once you reach the walls of Gerudo Town, circle the town to find an entrance or climb the walls. Inside, locate the largest building topped by a shrine. Climb the stairs and use Ascend to reach the Soryotanog Shrine at the top. Activate it for a fast travel point. Return downstairs and go down the hole in the middle of the staircase to find the Gerudo Sanctuary entrance. The guard, Reeza, will dismiss you. Use Ultrahand to move a crate near the door, stand on it, and peek through a hole in the door to observe Calyban dropping wish-filled bottles. You'll learn that these bottles are connected to surface wells, which are your means of entering the main area.
Leave the sanctuary and head northeast out of Gerudo Town, then turn right (southeast) down a street to find a square chute marked by colored tiles. Jump into this chute to land in water, one of Gerudo Town's wells. Follow the linear path to the main waterway, identifiable by flowing bottles. Follow the bottles upstream until you find an urn at the end of a rope. Ascend through the floor above the urn to enter Gerudo Sanctuary. The main quest Riju of Gerudo Town will begin.
