Homegrown in Hateno

Learn how to complete the Homegrown in Hateno: In side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Protect Reede from Stalkoblins until sunrise or defeat all waves.

Alright, so you've finished up The Mayoral Elections quest, and there's just one more thing to do for Reede in Hateno Village. Head down to that somewhat empty field you saw earlier, the one overlooking the road into town. You know, the one near the clothing shop? Reede will be there, and he's got a problem: Stalkoblins are messing with the village. Tell him you'll help out and act as his bodyguard. To officially kick things off, chat with him again and let him know you're ready. The game will instantly jump to late at night.

You've actually got two ways to get this done:

• Beat all the waves of Stalkoblins that show up.
• Just hang out until 5 am when the sun comes up.

Honestly, these Stalkoblins aren't too tough, even the bigger ones like Stalmoblins and Stalizalfos that pop up in the second and fourth waves. Your best bet is to use a polearm – something with a good reach so you can poke them from a safe distance. It's usually enough to knock their heads right off. Just remember, you've gotta hit the head after it's detached, otherwise, those Stalkoblins will just get back up. The attack will either end when the sun rises at 5 am, or once you've cleared out enough waves. Once you're done, Reede will give you five Sun Pumpkins, and you'll finally be able to buy that special fruit in Hateno Village.
