Learn how to defeat Marbled Gohma in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This guide covers its attacks, weaknesses, and strategies for both phases.

Alright, so you've made it to the Fire Temple and it's time to face Marbled Gohma. Don't worry, this boss is actually pretty straightforward once you know what to do! Think of it as a big, rocky spider that you can knock off its perch.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Weak Point: Marbled Gohma's eye.
  • How to Damage: Arrows to the eye are effective, but the quickest way to bring it down is by targeting its legs with Yunobo.

Phases:

  1. Phase 1: On the Floor
Marbled Gohma starts on the floor. It has a couple of main attacks: stomping its legs to create shockwaves (stay back!) and spitting explosive rocks (just keep moving). The key here is to use Yunobo. Aim Yunobo at Marbled Gohma's legs. You'll need to shatter two legs this way. Once two legs are broken, Gohma will fall to the ground. Now's your chance! Climb onto its head and attack its eye until it starts to get up. Make sure to jump off its head right before it fully stands up, or you'll get launched! Keep repeating this until its health is about halfway gone.
  2. Phase 2: On the Ceiling
After you've taken out half its health, Marbled Gohma will scuttle up to the ceiling. This phase is actually simpler. Just like at the start of the fight, you need to shoot Yunobo down the center of the room to hit one of its legs. This will knock it back down to the floor, stunned. Quickly climb back on top of its head and wail on its eye. Again, jump off before it gets back up. Gohma will then climb back to the ceiling and start throwing larger exploding rocks. Just keep moving to dodge these; they're not too tricky. If you're quick with Yunobo, you can knock it down each time it goes to the ceiling before it even gets a chance to attack.

Strategy:

  • Yunobo is Key: Seriously, don't forget about Yunobo. He's your best friend in this fight for knocking Gohma down.
  • Dodge and Weave: For the shockwave and rock-spitting attacks, just keep a safe distance and stay mobile.
  • Know When to Jump: When you're attacking Gohma on its head, always be ready to jump off before it stands up to avoid taking damage.
  • Aim for the Eye: Once it's down and stunned, focus your attacks on its eye for maximum damage.
  • Heart Container
  • Awakening of Yunobo as the Sage of Fire

Once you defeat Marbled Gohma, you'll get a Heart Container and see a cutscene where Yunobo officially becomes the Sage of Fire. After that, you'll be whisked back to Goron City, and Yunobo will be able to join you in battles and help break rocks wherever you go. Pretty neat!
