Learn how to open the Temple of Time in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by completing the first three shrines and unlocking the Recall ability.

Alright, so you're on the Great Sky Island and need to get into the Temple of Time. To do that, you've gotta prove you're worthy by completing three shrines. Don't worry, I'll walk you through finding them!

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First up is the Ukouh Shrine. You'll find it on the Great Sky Island.
  2. 2
Next, you'll need to locate the In-isa Shrine, also on the Great Sky Island.
  3. 3
Finally, seek out the Gutanbac Shrine. It's the third one you'll need to complete.

Once you've successfully cleared all three of those shrines, head back to the Temple of Time. You'll finally be able to open the main door!

After you interact with the glowing object inside, you'll trigger a cutscene and unlock the awesome Recall ability. This is super handy for all sorts of puzzles!

But don't stop there! Even though the main quest objective is complete, you'll want to go further into the Temple of Time. Swim across the water to the stairs. Now, equip your brand-new Recall ability. Aim at the cog mechanism and press the button to activate Recall. You'll hop on and ride it up!

When you want to stop the recall, just press the button again. Then, you'll need to cast Recall on the next cog in front of you to ride it into the next room. It’s a neat little puzzle to get you used to the new power.

After that, you'll run into a door behind the Goddess Statue. Go ahead and interact with it, but you'll find you're not quite strong enough to open it yet. Rauru will explain that you need one more Light of Blessing to get a Heart container from the Goddess Statue. Remember, you need four Lights of Blessing in total to get a Heart container.

Rauru will then tell you that you need to complete one more shrine. He suggests fast traveling back to the Room of Awakening (nice, we've got fast travel now!) to get to the fourth shrine. For details on that, you'll want to check out our guide on how to reach the fourth shrine.

Tips
  • Make sure you collect all three Lights of Blessing from the first three shrines. You'll need them to get a Heart container from the Goddess Statue later.
  • Pay attention to how the Recall ability works on the cogs; it's a fundamental mechanic you'll use a lot.
  • Don't forget to grab the Recall ability after the cutscene – it's essential for progressing!
