How to Get Diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom

Mine Rare Ore Deposits: Keep an eye out for ore deposits that have a distinct goldish sparkle. These aren't your everyday rocks; they're the 'Rare Ore Deposits.' You'll find them scattered all over Hyrule, both in the open and especially inside caves. While normal deposits give you basic ores, these rare ones can drop valuable gems like Rubies, Sapphires, and yes, Diamonds! Just remember, the drops are random, so you might not get a Diamond every single time, but it's definitely worth smashing them open whenever you see one.

Defeat Rare Stone Taluses: These big rock monsters can also be a source of Diamonds. When a Stone Talus comes to life, its name just pops up as 'Stone Talus,' so you won't know if it's a 'rare' one until you check its ore node. The key is to look for that same goldish sparkle on the ore node on its back. If it sparkles, it's a rare one! To make the fight easier, try using the 'Recall' ability on the boulders it throws at you. This will stun it, giving you a chance to climb onto its back and attack the ore node directly. You can also use your Camera to check the ore node for the sparkle before engaging too much. Like with the ore deposits, the loot from the Talus is random, so no guarantee, but it's a solid method.

Loot Diamonds from Chests: Chests are scattered everywhere in Tears of the Kingdom, and some of them hide Diamonds. It can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, but there are specific shrines where a Diamond is the guaranteed reward in the final chest. These shrines often require a bit more effort to find or unlock, like completing a quest or solving a tricky puzzle first. Here are some shrines known to have Diamonds as a reward:

Buy Diamonds in Goron City: Yep, you can actually buy Diamonds! Head over to Goron City, and you'll find a shop that sells them. Be warned, though, they are pretty expensive at 1,000 Rupees a pop. It's not the most budget-friendly option, but if you're in a pinch and have the Rupees to spare, it's a reliable way to get them. Keep in mind that they only sell three Diamonds at a time, so you might need to wait or visit again later if you need more.
