Discover how to find the Rubber Armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! This guide walks you through Whistling Hill Cave to get your shock-resistant gear.

Alright, so you're looking to get that sweet Rubber Armor in Tears of the Kingdom, huh? It's a great set for dealing with anything electric, and thankfully, it's not too much of a hassle to find. You'll be heading into a cave, kind of like with the Climbing Gear or Barbarian Armor, so get ready for a little exploration.

The place you're looking for is called the Whistling Hill Cave. You can find it pretty much straight south of Lookout Landing, not too far from the Teniten Shrine. Just a heads-up, it's hidden behind some breakable rocks, so if you're not looking carefully, you might just walk right past it. I've got a map marker for you if you get stuck finding the entrance.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Once you're inside the Whistling Hill Cave, the hunt for the armor begins. You'll see a couple of Keese right away, just head past them and cut through some roots to open up another passage.
  2. 2
After that, jump down and make a run for it past some Stalkoblins that start to wake up as you descend. Once you're past them, take an immediate left and use your Ascend ability on the ledge above you to get into another tunnel.
  3. 3
In this new tunnel, you'll run into a Rock Like. This guy likes to throw rocks at you. To get by, you can either defeat it or just stun it enough to create a window to run past. Keep following the path to the left and break some more rocks to reveal a new area.
  4. 4
Now, this is where it gets a bit trickier. You'll face a Shock Like, which, as the name suggests, uses electricity. You absolutely have to defeat this one to move forward. Try to expose its weak spot and hit it hard with your best weapons.
  5. 5
With the Shock Like out of the way, use something like a Bomb Flower to break the rocks above you. This will finally open up the path to the treasure room where the Rubber Armor is waiting.
  6. 6
Climb up into the new opening and follow it all the way to the end. You'll find a treasure chest there. Open it up, and voilà! You've got the Rubber Armor. Equip it and you'll be ready to take on those electric challenges.
Tips
  • The Whistling Hill Cave entrance is hidden behind breakable rocks, so keep an eye out!
  • Be prepared for the Stalkoblins and the Rock Like early on. They're just warm-ups.
  • The Shock Like is the main obstacle before the treasure. Focus on its weak spot to take it down efficiently.
  • Bomb Flowers are super useful for breaking the rocks blocking the final path.

How to Upgrade The Rubber Armor

To make your Rubber Armor even better, you'll need to visit a Great Fairy. There are four of them scattered across Hyrule, and you'll need to find them all to get your gear to its maximum potential. Upgrading the armor not only increases its defense but also grants the Lighting Proof ability, making you completely immune to shock damage. Each piece of the Rubber Armor needs to be upgraded three times.
