How to Beat Thunder Gleeok in Tears of the Kingdom

Learn how to defeat the Thunder Gleeok in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This guide covers preparation, strategies for each phase, and rewards.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• The Thunder Gleeok does not have a specific elemental weakness.
• Shock-resistant armor (like Rubber Armor) or Electro Elixirs are highly recommended to mitigate lightning damage.
• Bow and arrows are essential for targeting its heads.
• Keese Eyeballs fused to arrows add homing capabilities, increasing accuracy.
• Elemental Keese Eyeballs deal more damage than regular arrows, even if not a specific weakness.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Aerial Combat
   The Thunder Gleeok flies and attacks with its three heads. Target the heads with arrows, preferably fused with Keese Eyeballs, while dodging its attacks. Continue until all three heads are downed.
2. Phase 2: Grounded Combat
   Once all heads are downed, the Gleeok will fall to the ground. This is a physical damage phase. Equip your strongest, fastest-attacking melee weapon and deal as much damage as possible before it recovers and returns to flying.
3. Phase 3: Elevated Lightning Storm
   The Gleeok ascends higher and unleashes powerful lightning attacks. Equip metal-free gear (wooden weapons/shields) to avoid being targeted by lightning. After the lightning barrage, a strong updraft is created.
4. Phase 4: Final Aerial Assault
   Use the updraft created by the lightning to paraglide towards the Gleeok. While ascending, equip your lightning-resistant gear. Take advantage of the slow-motion effect while airborne to land multiple arrow shots, aiming to defeat the Gleeok. If it falls, finish it off with melee attacks.

Strategy:

• Preparation: Gather shock-resistant armor (e.g., Rubber Armor) or craft Electro Elixirs. Stock up on arrows and Keese Eyeballs.
• Targeting Heads: Use ZL to lock on and fire arrows at the Gleeok's heads. Homing arrows from Keese Eyeballs are very effective.
• Exploiting Grounded Phase: When the Gleeok is downed, switch to your best melee weapon for significant damage.
• Lightning Avoidance: In the final phase, switch to wooden or non-metal gear to avoid direct lightning strikes.
