Unlock the secrets of Enter the Gungeon's chests! Learn about item rarity, quality (Brown, Blue, Green, Red, Black, Rainbow), and their drop frequencies in Gungeons and Draguns vs. Classic modes.

Hey there, Gungeoneer! Let's talk about chests. They're your main source for goodies like pickups, items, and guns, and you'll find them all over the place – treasure rooms, after clearing a fight, from Winchester's games, and even in secret rooms. Some chests are locked and need a key, while others are just waiting to be opened. Treasure room chests are always locked, and one will always have an item while the other has a gun. This is separate from what you get if you decide to destroy a chest, though – a chest that should have an item might drop a gun if you break it open! Keep an eye out, too! Sometimes a fuse will appear near a chest. If you don't open it quickly, it'll explode and leave you with nothing. Pro tip: most liquid-spraying weapons (except oil) can douse that fuse and save your loot! ## Mimics Rarely, a chest might actually be a Mimic! The more Curse you have, the higher the chance. If you're rocking the Mimic Tooth Necklace, *all* colored chests (except rainbow, synergy, and rat chests) will be Mimics. You can spot a Mimic by shooting it – if it attacks back, you know what's up. Beat it, and you'll get its normal loot plus some extra. ## Chest Quality Chests come in different rarities, and the quality of what's inside generally follows this order from most common to least: * 1. Brown (D Quality) * 2. Blue (C Quality) * 3. Green (B Quality) * 4. Red (A Quality) * 5. Black (1S Quality) * 6. Rainbow Brown chests can sometimes have extra pickups, maybe even four! Blue chests, specifically, have a really good chance of dropping items. ## Quality Frequency Each floor has different odds for chest qualities, with better chances for higher-quality chests on later floors. This doesn't include any boosts from Magnificence. You can actually switch between two loot tables: the original one, and the one from the Gungeons and Draguns update. You can change this in The Breach or in the Gameplay options on the title screen. ### Gungeons and Draguns Loot Table | Floor | D Quality | C Quality | B Quality | A Quality | 1S Quality | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | 35% | 32% | 20% | 9% | 4% | | 2/Oub | 10% | 37% | 40% | 9% | 4% | | 3/Abbey | 2% | 26% | 54% | 12.5% | 5.5% | | 4 | 2% | 20% | 50% | 20% | 8% | | 5 | 0% | 10% | 42.5% | 35% | 12.5% | ### Classic Loot Table | Floor | D Quality | C Quality | B Quality | A Quality | 1S Quality | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | 42.5% | 35% | 15% | 5% | 2.5% | | 2/Oub | 20% | 32.5% | 35% | 9% | 3.5% | | 3/Abbey | 10% | 22% | 50% | 12.5% | 5.5% | | 4 | 2% | 20% | 50% | 20% | 8% | | 5 | 0% | 10% | 42.5% | 35% | 12.5% | ## Chest Destruction You can shoot chests to destroy them. Be careful though, this often results in less valuable loot like pickups or Junk. Sometimes, they'll just explode and hurt you if you're too close! ### Destruction Payouts | Payout | Weight | Notes | |---|---|---| | Junk | | 0.6 | Has a 20% chance to be replaced by Ser Junkan if he has not already been unlocked. |
