Expectations Not to Be Betrayed

Prepare a boat for Sakujirou alongside Yoimiya

This quest kicks off right after 'The Firework Girl's Strange Stories.' First things first, head south, cross the river, and look for Kouichi, the boatmaker chilling by a big Yumemiru tree. Go chat with him. Yoimiya will ask about the boat, and Kouichi seems a little hesitant talking about it with you around, but Yoimiya assures him you're cool. He says it's almost done but mentions he's having trouble moving it because of the Sakoku Decree. Apparently, the Tenryou Commission is super suspicious of any boats, no matter the size, and they'll hassle anyone caught with one. Yoimiya tells him she'll grab the boat soon and that he can pick up his fireworks order. Kouichi reminisces about his first firework order with the Naganohara's, and after a bit of catching up, Yoimiya apologizes for the chatter and suggests you both head into the city to grab some materials for the fireworks while Kouichi finishes up.

Look for firework materials in the city

Head back northeast into Inazuma City. Go up the stairs to find Morihiko. Go talk to him. Yoimiya starts with some small talk, but Morihiko cuts to the chase, knowing she's there for firework materials. He mentions he just set some aside for her and even throws in some ore, on the house! You'll learn about Morihiko's first firework order with the Naganohara's, and it's clear everyone really appreciates their service and thinks they're great people. After your chat, Yoimiya suggests heading to the Amenoma Smithy to process the materials you just got.

Go to Amenoma Smithy

Head down the stairs to the west, right next to Yoimiya's fireworks shop, and you'll find the Amenoma Smithy. Hajime, the owner's son, greets Yoimiya and figures she's there for materials. He asks her to wait because he's swamped with weapon orders, but Yoimiya explains it's urgent. He'll only process them now if his master, Mr. Amenoma, agrees, but he doesn't. Instead, Mr. Amenoma offers to do it himself and gives Yoimiya some advice. After he finishes processing the ore, Yoimiya is impressed with his skill. Turns out, Naganohara and Amenoma have a long history of working together, which Paimon points out. After saying their goodbyes, Yoimiya suggests heading back to Kouichi and waiting for the boat.

Head to the designated location to meet Kouichi

Go back to where you met Kouichi before, under the big Yumemiru tree. A scene will play out. Kouichi hasn't returned yet, but Yoimiya uses the time to chat with you. She asks about your life before Inazuma, and you share your story, including being separated from your sibling. She then talks a bit about Inazuma, and just then, Kouichi shows up to tell you the boat is ready.

Go and confirm the ships’ condition

After the scene, head south across the grassy area and down to the beach. Another scene triggers. Paimon, being Paimon, exclaims the boat looks too small, while you think it seems sturdy enough for its size. Kouichi agrees it's the biggest and sturdiest he could manage right now, warning that it'll be extremely dangerous if Sakujirou plans to ride out a storm in it. Yoimiya reassures him it's a last resort and hopefully, Sakujirou won't need to use it. She asks Kouichi to store the boat here and cover it up, letting him know she'll inform Sakujirou it's ready if needed. She says goodbye and reminds him his fireworks are ready for pickup. Kouichi mentions Third Sis, and Yoimiya shares a story about a once-prosperous merchant guild and how Third Sis got his name. After the scene, head back to Sakujirou.

Tell Sakujirou the ship’s location

Return to Naganohara Fireworks and go to the north side of the building. Interact with the window. Yoimiya delivers the good news about the boat, but Sakujirou doesn't seem thrilled. He realizes his time in Inazuma is coming to an end. Paimon asks why he came back in the first place. He explains that he hated Inazuma growing up and couldn't wait to leave, but as he got older, he realized he was just running from his responsibilities. Once he understood that, he started feeling restless.
