Through the Mists

Talk to Sumida in Ritou, Inazuma, behind the souvenir shop. You will witness a scene where she discusses information exchange with Sango, Ryuuji, and Roald, who also took her commission and experienced the Maushiro disappearing.

Travel to Tsurumi Island. Teleport to the Statue of the Seven and follow the path southwest. You may find Remarkable Chests containing furnishing blueprints. Pass through the large gate as Paimon suggests, and continue west to find Ruu.

Talk to Ruu. He recognizes you and expresses relief that you didn't disappear like other outlanders. After discussing the Maushiro's disappearance, Ruu explains that the feathers are the original Maushiro and gives you one, granting you the gadget, Peculiar Pinion.

Follow Ruu to a mysterious carving. Equip the Peculiar Pinion and use it near the carving to see an illusion of Kama kneeling by a tree.

Talk to the illusion of Kama. He speaks of burying the Maushiro and leaving the island without possessions. Ruu concludes Kama has left and thanks you for your help with the perches, mentioning further preparations for a ceremony. He asks you to check on Grandpa Mata at the ceremonial site. Paimon notes Mata wasn't there previously.

Dig near the tree where you saw Kama's illusion. Interact with the tree to start digging, which will result in a short scene and you receiving the Maushiro again.

Go to the ceremonial site. Teleport to the nearest waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) to the west or follow the western path.

Listen in on the locals’ conversations (0/3). At the ceremonial site, find three groups of people. Listen to each group. One group on the left has nothing interesting to say. To your right are Kito and Kina. At the back are Mata and Chise. After listening, Paimon suggests finding Ruu, who might be at Wakukau Shoal, Oina Beach, or Autake Plains. Wakukau Shoal is suggested as the nearest starting point.

Complete the Wakukau Shoal puzzle. Head south from the ceremonial site and defeat enemies to find a Remarkable Chest. Follow an Electro Seelie which will spawn a mysterious statue at the bottom. Follow the Seelie and drop off the cliff to the coast. Near the objective marker, Paimon will point out the mysterious statue.

Use your Peculiar Pinion to search for clues.
