Yelan was released on May 31, 2022, with the version 2.7 update in the Event Wish “Discerner of Enigmas”. She is described as a mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs but is a “non-entity” on their list.

Yelan’s Skills:

• Normal Attack: Stealthy Bowshot - After a short time out of combat, Yelan enters a “Breakthrough” state. Her next Charged Aimed Shot will have decreased charge time and, once charged, can fire a “Breakthrough Barb” that deals AoE Hydro damage. This state has a chance to reset based on the number of opponents marked.
• Elemental Skill: Lingering Lifeline - Tapping or holding the skill button allows Yelan to move rapidly using her Lifeline, marking opponents along her path. When the move ends, the Lifeline explodes, dealing Hydro damage to marked targets. This has a chance to reset her “Breakthrough” state, based on the number of opponents marked.
• Elemental Burst: Depth-Clarion Dice - Creates a wondrous dice that deals AoE Hydro damage and aids Yelan in battle. The dice follow her and initiate a coordinated attack when your active character uses a normal attack, or each time her Lifeline explodes and hits opponents.

Yelan’s Passive Talents:

• Adapt With Ease (Ascension 1): The active character’s damage increases over time while the Dice are active.
• Turn Control (Ascension 4): Yelan’s HP increases based on the number of different Elemental Types present in the party.
• Necessary Calculation (Unlocked Auto): Yelan gains increased rewards when dispatched on a Liyue Expedition for 20 hours.

• Level 1 - Enter the Plotters: Lingering Lifeline gains 1 additional charge.
• Level 2 - Taking All Comers: When Exquisite Throw conducts a coordinated attack, it fires an additional water arrow dealing 14% of Yelan’s Max HP as Hydro DMG. This effect triggers once every 1.8s.
• Level 3 - Beware the Trickster’s Dice: Increases the Level of Depth-Clarion Dice by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Level 4 - Bait-and-Switch: Increases all party members’ Max HP by 10% for 25s for every opponent marked by Lifeline when the Lifeline explodes. A maximum increase of 40% Max HP can be attained.
• Level 5 - Dealer’s Sleight: Increases the Level of Lingering Lifeline by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Level 6 - Winner Takes All: After using Depth-Clarion Dice, Yelan enters the Mastermind state for 20s. In this state, all of Yelan’s Normal Attacks become special Breakthrough Barbs that deal 156% of a normal Breakthrough Barb’s DMG and are considered Charged Attack DMG. The state clears after Yelan fires 5 arrows.

Hydro Support Build: Yelan is best played as a Support/Sub DPS. Her sustained DPS isn’t as high as other characters, making her Elemental Burst, which persists even when she isn’t active, her primary utility. For this reason, it’s best to equip her with gear that gives her Energy Recharge.
