Act I: Master's Day Off

Follow our Genshin Impact walkthrough for Act I: Master's Day Off. Learn how to complete all steps, defeat Abyss Order enemies, and talk to Jean.

Steps:

1. Ask Barbara about Jean’s condition: Head to the Cathedral in Mondstadt, go inside, and speak to Barbara. She’ll tell you Jean has already left and is likely at Lady Venessa’s Place again.
2. Go to the big “Symbol of Vennessa” tree: Teleport to the Windrise Statue of the Seven and head southwest towards the large tree. A scene will trigger.
3. Hunt down the Abyss Order enemies: Head west and enter a small crevice in the rocks to unlock a special one-time domain named “Hunt down the Abyss Mage”. Jean will join as a playable trial character. Inside, after a scene where Jean explains her Elemental Burst Dandelion Breeze, proceed forward. Defeat the two Hilichurls guarding a Common Chest using Jean’s Elemental Skill Gale Blade to push them off a cliff. Open the chest. Head back, turn west, go down the stairs, past the Door of Resurrection, and down another set of stairs. At the bottom, destroy the wall of rocks with Jean’s Gale Blade after defeating the five enemies, prioritizing the Hydro Samachurl as it heals allies. If facing water, using Gale Blade can instantly kill them. Destroy the wall to reveal another Common Chest. Continue north across the bridge and through the door. In the next room, use Gale Blade to push Hilichurls off the cliff. Launch Cryo Slimes into the fire turret for significant damage. Defeat remaining enemies and continue across the bridge to another group of Hilichurls. Defeat them and prepare for a mini-boss.
4. Albrecht - the Pyrochanter: This is a normal Pyro Abyss Mage with more health. Charge Jean’s Gale Blade on Cryo Slimes and launch them at Albrecht to damage its Shield. Repeat until the shield breaks, stunning Albrecht. Attack with Hydro, Cryo, Electro, or Jean’s Anemo. Watch out for its ground fire blasts and summoning of fire-spewing heads, which are easy to avoid as they don’t track. Keep attacking; if the shield returns, repeat the slime strategy. After defeating Albrecht, a scene will play, and you’ll receive a reward and loot from the chest. Leave the domain via the blue gate.
5. Return to Mondstadt and talk to Jean: Head back to Mondstadt’s gates and speak to Jean. A scene with Swan will inform you of another request at the Angel’s Share Tavern.
6. Enter the Tavern: Head to the tavern in the northeast and go inside for a cutscene. Go to the second-floor terrace, through the balcony door, and talk to Jean to complete the quest.
