Need help with the 'Arrive Unexpected' quest in Assassin's Creed Valhalla? Follow our guide to find the Saxon camp, deal with Stowe's plan, and defeat the enemies.
Alright, so you've just wrapped up the 'Reaver of the South' quest, and now it's time for 'Arrive Unexpected.' This one kicks off right away as part of the big plan to take down Portcestre. Basically, Stowe's going to help you out by attacking a key Saxon camp.
You'll find this camp chilling in the southwest part of Suthsexe, just south of Guildford. Once you get close, a cutscene will play. Stowe's gonna suggest trying to talk to the Saxons first before going in swords blazing. You can totally go along with it to keep Stowe happy, but honestly, it doesn't really change the outcome. You'll end up fighting anyway, but at least some Saxons will survive and head off to join Stowe and Erke in Lunden. It's more of a story flavor thing than anything that actually impacts the quest or the main story, so don't stress too much about it.
When you get into the fight, you'll be up against soldiers pretty similar to ones you've fought before. Expect to see Pikemen, Yeomen, Kinsmen, and a really important one – the Standard-Bearer. You should be pretty familiar with how these guys fight by now, but it's definitely easier with Stowe and Erke backing you up. The main thing to watch out for is that Standard-Bearer; they can heal their buddies, and you'll see a white aura around them when they're about to do it. Make sure you interrupt them ASAP! Once the last enemy in the camp is down, this quest is a wrap.
