How To Romance Tarben

Alright, so you're looking to get a little closer to Tarben, huh? He's a pretty decent bloke, and thankfully, romancing him in Assassin's Creed Valhalla isn't too complicated. It's all about building trust and completing a couple of key quests. Let's get you set up!

First things first: The Baker's Plaint

You can't even think about romancing Tarben until you've completed 'The Baker's Plaint'. This is where you'll really get to know him a bit better as you help him out with some errands at a local market. Just a heads-up, you won't be able to kick off this quest until you've actually built the Bakery back in Ravensthorpe. Make sure your settlement is at least Level 2 – that's the requirement for building it.

Next up: Man of Mystery

Once 'The Baker's Plaint' is wrapped up, you'll unlock 'Man of Mystery'. This quest dives even deeper into Tarben's past, confirming some of the stuff you might have suspected from those market trips and notes you found in the bakery. After you've finished this, you and Tarben will have built up a solid trust.

Making Your Move

With trust established, you can now chat with Tarben. Look for the dialogue option that says, “Shall we spend some time together?”. This will trigger a scene where you both head down to the docks in Ravensthorpe for a bit of fishing. It's a nice, chill moment.

The Waiting Game (and a Little More Patience)

After your fishing trip, you might need to give it a few in-game days before Tarben is ready to talk romance. Just hang tight and check back with him. When he's ready, he'll straight up tell you he's interested in Eivor. This is your cue to return the feelings and officially start the relationship.

What Comes Next?

Once you're together, you'll have all the usual relationship perks you get with other romance options. Plus, you'll unlock some fun activities with Tarben: you can go fishing together whenever you fancy, challenge him to drinking contests, or even play a game of Orlog. Enjoy!
