Learn how to defeat Steinnbjorn, a legendary bear in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Get tips on preparation, weak points, and attack patterns to win this tough fight.

Alright, so you've stumbled upon a bit of a tough customer in Jotunheim: Steinnbjorn. This guy's a legendary bear made of stone and ice, and he's not messing around. He's a Power Level 400 enemy, so unless you're looking for a serious challenge, it's best to tackle him when you're around that level. We managed it at Power Level 350, and it was totally doable, but make sure you're stocked up on rations and arrows before you even think about starting this fight. You'll find some supplies in the arena, but going in fully prepared is always the best move.

Before you head in, it's a good idea to visit Gunnar, the blacksmith back in Ravensthorpe. Get your armor and weapons upgraded to Flawless or even Mythical quality. Slap some good runes on them too – think increased attack, health, and defense. As for weapons, anything you've upgraded will work, but if you've got Gungnir, Odin's spear, its superior reach and force field can be a real game-changer. It lets you weave between Steinnbjorn's legs and get some hits in while dodging its attacks.

Fighting Steinnbjorn

If you keep a decent pace and you're close to Steinnbjorn's power level, this fight shouldn't drag on for more than 10-15 minutes. The moment you step into the ice arena, the fight's on. Steinnbjorn will wake up and charge right at you. It's a bit erratic, with a series of stomps as it lunges. Keep an eye out: Steinnbjorn usually stomps in the same spot for a few seconds before charging. This is your cue! When you see it stomping, get ready. Don't dodge too early. Wait until the bear makes its final leap right in front of you, then dodge to either side. It uses both front legs for the final lunge, so watch for that – it's a key pattern to remember.

Steinnbjorn has three weak points: one on its rear end and one on each of its hindquarters. You'll have an easier time hitting the hindquarter weak points if you can flank the bear. If you can't, just try to create some distance when you have the chance so you can aim properly without getting swiped. To hit the weak point on its rear, try rolling behind it. It'll likely rear up on its hind legs for a moment, giving you a precious few seconds to shoot that weak spot and make it vulnerable for a stun attack. Do this ASAP to take a big chunk out of its health early on.

Shoot Ice from Steinnbjorn’s Body

You'll notice Steinnbjorn will sometimes get these big chunks of ice stuck to its body. They can do serious damage if they hit you, but you can actually use them to your advantage! If you manage to shoot these ice pieces, it'll briefly stun the bear and deal a little damage. While it's stunned, you can sneak in some quick light attacks or just keep shooting from a distance. Definitely try to hit these ice chunks as soon as you see them appear.

Avoid Steinnbjorn’s Sweeping Paw

Besides the charge, watch out for its sweeping paw attack. This happens when you're close and facing it directly. You won't get a ton of warning, just a raised paw right before it swings. Keep an eye out for that raised paw and be ready to dodge or roll.

Special Attacks: Magical

Steinnbjorn has three magical ice attacks that hit like a truck. The first one involves concentric ice walls that spike up randomly from the ground. The only real warning is when Steinnbjorn rears up on its hind legs, though this doesn't *always* mean an attack is coming. Still, better safe than sorry! Whenever you see it rear up, create as much distance as possible. The ice walls will keep forming around it until it's clear you're not going to get hit.

The second attack often follows the first. Once the ice walls stop, Steinnbjorn will turn and slam its paws down, sending a block of ice speeding towards you. You can avoid these by just sprinting away to either side, but try not to change direction mid-sprint. Alternatively, you can dodge or roll – it's a bit more reliable if you're caught off guard. Sprinting saves stamina, but dodging is a safer bet.

The third special attack is similar to the second, where you'll be attacked by a large bloc
