Through Faith & Fire

Speak with Abbess Magdalena near your starting location on the Isle of Ely. Follow her through the monastery grounds to the church.

Interact with the pew in the church to participate in morning prayer with the Abbess.

Go to the kitchen to break your fast and encounter Brother Jerome and Brother Oswine.

When Brother Oswine begins choking, disobey Brother Jerome and take Oswine to the infirmary, located west of the kitchen.

Place Oswine on the bed in the infirmary and speak with Father Bertwald.

Father Bertwald suggests searching the scriptorium for a remedy. Interact with the four scripts: "Vivid Pain of the Side" (north), "Yellow Disease" (south), "Blood Flux" (southwest), and "Elf Hickey" (northwest).

After finding the scripts irrelevant, seek out Sister Winifred nearby. Listen carefully to her recommended recipe: "Oxa’s recipe for pain", which requires Dust from a relic, Double-brewed ale, Honey, and Feverfew.

Gather the ingredients: find the ale in the kitchen (east of the scriptorium).

Collect the dust from a relic in the church (northwest of the kitchen).

Go to the fields north of the monastery to find honey and feverfew. Speak with Sister Odelyn in the fields to get honey from a nearby table.

Speak with Brother Cyneweard further north to identify feverfew, then pick some up northwest of his location.

Return to the mixing bench where you spoke with Father Bertwald.

During the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) with Father Bertwald, recite the ingredients in the correct order: 1. “Ale, from the kitchens”, 2. “Feverfew and honey”, 3. “Dust from a relic”.

Give the mixed remedy to Brother Oswine, who is still in the infirmary bed.

After a cutscene, Brother Jerome will arrive and instruct you to follow him to Abbess Magdalena in the chapel.

Accept the reliquary offered by the Abbess and follow her to the catacombs.

Proceed down the steps in the catacombs until you reach the shore of the river to complete the quest.
