A Cruel Destiny

Master the 'A Cruel Destiny' boss fight in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Learn Kjotve the Cruel's attack patterns, weaknesses, and strategies for both phases to emerge victorious.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Kjotve the Cruel is a boss.
• Vulnerable for 1-2 seconds after special attacks.
• Vulnerable to stunning towards the end of Phase 2.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Unarmed and Dual Axes
   • Starts unarmed, uses unblockable charges and punches. Dodge and roll are essential.
   • After taking about a quarter of his health, Kjotve picks up two one-handed axes.
   • While dual-wielding, he can parry arrows, making the bow less effective.
   • Attacks include:
   • A charge attack culminating in a high knee to the face (dodge to the side).
   • A basic swing attack (one swift strike, then a sweeping attack with both axes).
   • A charge attack slamming both axes into the ground, causing you to lose balance (full roll to avoid).
   • A red aurora indicates an incoming punch or charge attack.
   • Strategy: Evade attacks, land a few swift strikes after he finishes a special move, and use your bow for headshots when he is unarmed.
2. Phase 2: Pit Fight with Corpses
   • Triggered when Kjotve reaches about half health, throwing you into a pit.
   • Cloudberry bushes are available in the pit for healing.
   • Kjotve uses his previous attacks and introduces new ones:
   • Picks up surrounding corpses to charge at you, knocking you over or dealing moderate damage. Avoid corners.
   • Throws corpses from afar.
   • Strategy: Dodge corpse attacks, especially in corners. Strike him a few times with light attacks when he is vulnerable after using corpses. Attempt heavy attacks cautiously.
   • Towards the end of the fight, Kjotve tires and can be stunned by light attacks. Perform a finishing move when stunned.

Strategy:

• Prioritize dodging and rolling over blocking, especially for unblockable attacks.
• Manage your stamina to ensure you can always evade.
• Punish Kjotve after he completes his special attacks.
• Use your bow for ranged attacks when safe, particularly headshots in Phase 1.
• In Phase 2, be aware of the environment and avoid getting cornered.
• When Kjotve is near death, focus on stunning him with light attacks and executing a finishing move.
