A Love Betrayed

Alright, so you've landed in Glowecestre for the 'A Love Betrayed' quest, and the first thing you'll want to do is head to the longhouse. Eivor thinks Cynon might be there, but surprise! He's not. Instead, you need to find and chat with Brigid. She's hanging out at the southern end of the longhouse. Don't stress too much about what you say to her; it doesn't really change anything.

After your chat, you'll need to find someone who can get you into the church where Cynon's hiding out. A party organiser outside the longhouse, up north, will point you towards Geva, who has the key. You could go find another organiser at the market to the northwest and then haul a crate over to the church, but honestly, it's way faster to just break into the church yourself. Head to the northern end and smash through a window – easy peasy. Once you're inside, Cynon is waiting at the northern end, behind a wooden barricade.

Now, here's the big moment: when you break down that barricade, a cutscene kicks off with Cynon. The initial chat doesn't matter for anything, but you'll eventually have to decide whether to kill him or let him live. This choice has pretty minor consequences, so don't sweat it too much. If you're curious, though, here's the lowdown:

• If you kill Cynon: Not a whole lot changes. You'll just have to fight and kill Modron later on. The wicker-man burning still happens, but Cynon won't be in the cage when it goes up.
• If you spare Cynon: You'll still have to fight Modron, but you'll get the option to spare her too. The wicker-man burning proceeds as planned, and Cynon meets his fiery end in the cage.
