The Defender of the Hearth is a fearless defender of hearth and home, gaining defensive and offensive abilities with shields, delayed Weapon Training, and 3 skill points per level.

Level Progression

When taking Weapon Training at 9th level, you must take two ranks in the same weapon type.

Abilities

Shield Block

When using a heavy shield or a tower shield, the damage of the first successful attack against the character is reduced by 20%. At 5th level and every 5 subsequent levels, the number of attacks affected increases by 1 (max 5 at 20th level).

Heaven Strike

From 5th level, when wielding a weapon and shield, the Defender of the Hearth can deal weapon damage to all enemies within 20' once per combat. This action does not require an attack roll.

Defender's Gift

At 20th level, the Defender of the Hearth deals double weapon damage for 1 round after using Shield Block.
