Guide to Crimson Desert's Traitor mission. Defeat Cassius Morten by spamming heavy attacks and get the Shield of Betrayal.

Traitor is the 81st main mission in Crimson Desert, starting in the Hernand region during Chapter 6 – Cracks in the Shield, Sub-Chapter The Undying Shields. You must have finished the previous main quest, A Thousand Troops, to begin. The reward for this quest is the Shield “Shield of Betrayal”.

The quest description states that after suppressing rebellions in Calphade by executing Cassius Morten, it appears he did not act alone. His loyalty belonged to Basteri, the Grand General of Demeniss. It is now clear that a massive conspiracy lurks behind the actions for both the Black Bears and Cassius Morten.

Objectives:

1. Defeat Cassius Morten

Enter the door at the end of the castle to face the Cassius Morten boss. This is the first boss that uses a shield and will block your attacks. He has one health bar. Equip the sword you got from the previous boss, “Tauria Curved Sword”. Buy Kliff’s green skill “Nature’s Echo” to duplicate your heavy attacks. Then spam heavy attacks (Triangle / Y / Right Click) on the boss; this will damage him even when he blocks. After 3 hits, it will interrupt him, allowing you to follow up with some light attacks (Square / X / Left Click).

If you are low on healing items, your best bet is to fast travel back to Hernand and buy meat from the meat vendor, or go hunting animals in the woods. Cook 50+ Grilled Meat using the cooking pot to the right of the meat vendor to make this fight more manageable.

Beating the boss finishes the Traitor mission in Crimson Desert.
