Complete the Cloud Fortress Orbian main mission in Crimson Desert by destroying 5 yellow cores and defeating the fortress's core boss.
Cloud Fortress Orbian is the 154th main mission in Crimson Desert, found in Chapter 11 – Truth and Reality. You must have finished the previous main quest, Whispers in the Wind. There is no reward for completing this mission. The objective is to destroy the Flying Fortress Orbian with Blackstar.
Objectives:
- Destroy the Flying Fortress Orbian
- Destroy the core rotating outside Flying Fortress Orbian and disable the protective barrier
- Find a way inside
- Follow the cables, destroy the glass barrier devices, and go to the roof
- Destroy the device in the center of the roof to find where H.A.L.L. is
- Flying Fortress Orbian Boss Fight
Destroy the Flying Fortress Orbian / Destroy the core rotating outside Flying Fortress Orbian and disable the protective barrier
You will automatically mount the flying dragon after the previous quest. If you dismounted, call it again with D-Pad. Fly to the Sky Fortress and use the dragon to shoot fire projectiles at the 5 yellow cores around the fortress. These cores can only be hit when you are directly in front of them within the red lasers, and they glow yellow. After destroying all 5 cores, a cutscene will play.
Important before you start:
- You must have the “Stab” skill at Level 1.
- Bring a bow and have the blue skill “Charged Shot” unlocked.
- Optional but helpful: have the green skill “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2 to throw back projectiles.
Find a way inside
You will now proceed on foot inside the Orbian fortress. To find a way inside, use the “Stab” skill on the round pillar in front of you ( Shift + Right Click). This will lodge your weapon in the pillar, acting as a lever you can push to rotate it. Rotate the pillar to align the open grate with the open ceiling, then jump through using 3 mid-air Force Palms.
Follow the cables, destroy the glass barrier devices, and go to the roof
On the next floor, use the “Stab” skill on the green glass barrier in the middle and press the indicated button to pierce it ( / ). Defeat the enemies on this floor. Check the sides for cables going upwards and climb them to reach the roof. There is a resting ledge halfway up the roof if needed.
Destroy the device in the center of the roof to find where H.A.L.L. is
In the center of the rooftop, use the “Stab” skill on the green glass device and destroy it. A door will open on the north side of the fortress. Watch the minimap for the arrow pointing north. Look down the ledge for the now-open gate and drop onto it, being careful not to fall. From where you land, enter the round corridor, proceed left until you reach a metal gate with a green cog icon. Climb the gate and hang onto the side, slightly off-center. While hanging, use Focused Force Palm. This will rotate the door, allowing you to pass through. A regular Force Palm will not work.

Flying Fortress Orbian Boss Fight
IMPORTANT: Do not die during the boss fight, or you will respawn at the start of the fortress and must redo all steps. If you take any damage, heal back fully immediately, and use a Palmer Pill if you die.
Immediately after rotating the gate, a cutscene plays, followed by a boss fight. This boss is the core of Fortress Obsidian, appearing as a golden eye with one health bar. Bring a bow to this fight and have the “Charged Shot” skill and “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2. Shoot the boss with Charged Shot. Hold / to aim and hold / to charge a shot. This consumes Spirit. Alternatively, if you do not have a bow or arrows, use “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2 to catch the boss's projectiles and throw them back. Enter Focus Mode, rotate the right stick to catch projectiles, then press the Right Stick to throw them back. Another method is to latch onto the core with Axiom Force, then use the Force Current skill (if unlocked) to stun the boss and perform a few charged shots while it is stunned. The boss has only one attack: shooting projectiles. When its yellow stunbar is full, it will “shut down” for a few seconds, taking massive damage from your next hit (this hit removes 25% of its health). This is a relatively easy boss fight once you have the correct skills.
Beating the boss concludes the Cloud Fortress Orbian mission in Crimson Desert.
- Ensure you have the “Stab” skill and a bow with “Charged Shot” unlocked before starting.
- Use “Nature’s Snare” to reflect projectiles if you have it at Level 2.
- Heal immediately if you take damage during the boss fight.
- Exploit the boss’s stun phase for massive damage.
