Follow the Grounds of the Sunrise Questline

Grounds of the Sunrise is a questline under Greymane Faction Quests that has you talk to Marius about recruiting Greymanes and expanding the camp. The bulk of upgrading your camp rests on this quest as progressing through it culminates in Expansion Missions that raise the level of your camp.

If you find yourself stuck without knowing how to upgrade your camp, check the questline in your Journal and make some progress to see what you need to do to improve the camp.

Expansion Missions Unlock More Greymane Quests

Expansion Missions serve as milestones marking significant improvements made to your camp. Whenever an Expansion Mission becomes available mid-questline, be sure to prioritize it so that you can unlock more quests and, in turn, more Greymanes.

Complete Greymane Faction Quests

Aside from Grounds of the Sunrise, you can complete other Greymane Faction Quests to improve camp facilities and add more features. For example, after recruiting him to the camp, complete Brice's Request to learn how to build a wagon. This then introduces you to the game's trade system.

Dispatch Comrades on Missions

Dispatching Comrades does not directly upgrade your camp, but what it does is collect resources for missions that stock up on camp provisions. Camp provisions are the lifeblood of your camp as they are what sustain your Comrades on missions, especially Expansion Missions.

As you progress through Greymane Faction Quests, you will eventually dispatch Comrades to expand your camp. Expansion Missions demand lots of resources for completion, but this should not be a problem as long as you have been passively gathering resources.

Upgrading Your Camp Levels Up Comrades

Your Comrades' skill levels are dependent on your camp's progress. This means that whenever you upgrade your camp, your Comrades unlock new and improved skills that can be used in missions with more demanding conditions. Note that dispatching them on missions does not actually give them EXP.
