Crimson Desert Greymanes: Faction Guide

The Greymanes are Crimson Desert's foundational mercenary faction, central to the game's story. Originally built by commander Gian and now led by Kliff Macduff after a devastating ambush, they were known for loyalty, civilian protection, and combat learning. The Greymane Camp in Hernand serves as the player's central hub, expanding with rescued companions (Oongka, Yann, Naira, Damiane) and recruited allies like Hubert. Camp upgrades unlock crafting, combat training, fast travel, and story content, offering strategic choices in the early and mid-game.

The faction embodies the theme of community worth fighting for. Each character joining the Camp adds to the Greymanes' legacy. The faction's story spans from survivors in Hernand to a force challenging Myurdin's Black Bears. Completing Greymane quests reveals the full history, including Gian's death and the Black Bears' animosity.

Politically, the Greymanes forge alliances with House Celeste for legitimacy and diplomacy with the House of Wells for trade and intelligence. The Greymane Camp becomes an economic hub with shops, rare goods from Shakatu, and specialized crafting. Maximizing Greymane reputation unlocks a late-game quest revealing Gian's vision for a continental peacekeeping force, granting access to the Greymane Legacy armor set and Oathkeeper weapon line.

The Greymanes are the protagonist faction and Kliff's adopted family, with their camp as the player's primary base. Investing in its growth through the Restore the Greymane Camp quest unlocks essential facilities and character interactions.
