Guide to Crimson Desert's Blinding Darkness main mission. Learn how to defeat Myurdin and the final boss Umbra, with tips on using Nature's Snare.
Blinding Darkness is the 160th main mission in Crimson Desert, found in Chapter 12 – The Abyss. You must have finished the previous main quest, A Shadow in the Void, to start. There is no reward for completing this quest.
The mission begins after beating Corrupted Caliburn. Step through the Abyss Gate to face two more boss fights.
WARNING: Do not choose the “Give Up” option during the Myurdin fight or close the game, as this will spawn you far away and prevent re-entry to the Corrupted Caliburn gate. Reloading a manual save before Corrupted Caliburn is the best option if this happens.
Objectives:
- Defeat Umbra
Myurdin, the Avatar of Umbra Boss Fight
Myurdin, the Avatar of Umbra, has two health bars and is a significantly more powerful version of a previous encounter. He uses many of the strongest boss attacks from throughout the story.
Preparation: Ensure you have over 100 Grilled Meat, a few Palmer Pills for revives, high refinement level equipment, and a level 10 health stat. Many of Myurdin's attacks can kill in one to two hits.
Strategy: Focus on dodging all his attacks. Parrying is risky and inconsistent due to his frequent unparriable magical attacks. Always dodge behind him, wait for him to miss, then land a combo. Repeat this process.
Dangerous Attack: His most dangerous attack involves shooting red lasers from the sky. While dodging and healing is possible, the best counter is using the green skill “Nature’s Snare” (Level 2 – Nature’s Retribution) to throw back projectiles. Practice recognizing the charge-up for this attack. As soon as he begins charging, use Nature’s Snare. Be ready to dodge immediately after the lasers stop, as he performs a jump attack with a short 2-3 second delay.
Disappearance: Myurdin may disappear and respawn elsewhere in the arena. He can sometimes get stuck on rocks or appear on the opposite side. Use the red dot on the minimap to locate him.
Second Phase: Myurdin hits harder in the second phase. Save Palmer Pills for revives, as they make the fight significantly easier. A defense stat of 100+ will also be beneficial.
Umbra Boss Fight (Final Boss)
After defeating Myurdin, you immediately face Umbra, the final story boss. Umbra is a large flying angel, and you fight this encounter while riding your dragon.
Boss Moves: Umbra attacks by shooting rocks and lasers. If you die, you do not need to re-fight Myurdin, and the boss's health does not regenerate.
Strategy: Fly close enough for your projectiles to hit, but not so close that Umbra's shockwave knocks you back. While at a suitable distance, fly left and right to avoid lasers and stop flying forward. Shoot fireballs at the eye in the middle until the yellow stunbar below the boss’s health is full.
Finishing Blow: Once the stunbar is full, jump off your dragon and glide toward Umbra’s eye. Use air dash ( / ) to reach the eye and hit it with Force Palm ( / Mouse Wheel). This deals massive damage, depleting about half the healthbar. Repeat this 2-3 times to defeat Umbra and trigger the game ending.
The epilogue consists of 8 dialogue quests requiring you to speak with each faction encountered in the story.
- Bring plenty of Grilled Meat and Palmer Pills for the Myurdin fight.
- Prioritize dodging Myurdin's attacks over parrying.
- Master the timing of Nature's Snare for Myurdin's laser attack.
- Use the stunbar mechanic against Umbra by targeting its eye after filling the bar.
- Jump off your dragon to perform the Force Palm finisher on Umbra.
