All Challenges Guide

Complete all Crimson Desert Challenges for trophies and achievements. Find Sealed Abyss Artifacts and unlock categories like Exploration, Mastery, Combat, Life, and Minigames.

Challenges in Crimson Desert are essential for unlocking trophies and achievements. Each Challenge is unlocked by finding a Sealed Abyss Artifact, which also grants Abyss Artifacts (Skill Points) and other items upon completion. The requirements for Challenges are not visible until the associated artifact is found. Progress on Challenges only counts after the artifact is found, except for some cumulative requirements. It is recommended to unlock all Challenges as early as possible to make progress while playing through the story.

The most efficient way to navigate the world and find artifacts is to first unfog the map by activating all 8 hidden bells and collecting fast travel points. Sealed Abyss Artifacts can be found in the open world along roads; they are not marked on the map but appear as purple icons on the minimap when nearby. You can use the sword’s Guiding Light ability (L1+R1 / LB+RB / CTRL + Left Click) to see a blue glimmer when an artifact is close. Artifact locations are fixed.

Challenge progress can be tracked in the Journal under Challenges. Minigame Challenges are unlocked by interacting with each minigame location for the first time. Some Challenges, including certain Abyss Challenges, Spires, and Minigames, are story-related and can only be completed later in the game. Exploration Challenges are Puzzles found directly in the open world and do not require Sealed Abyss Artifacts; they are often located in white search areas marked with a question mark (“?”) on the map.

To achieve the Platinum trophy and 1000 Gamerscore, all Challenges must be completed 100%. Each Challenge category awards a trophy, with some sub-categories also granting individual trophies.

Tips:

  • Some Special Weapons challenges require the weapon to be fragile. If breakable equipment like the lightning spear or bismuth spear breaks, it may be lost unless it can be recreated via expeditions (e.g., Well of Enlightenment expedition for Bismuth Spears). Turning these spears into unbreakable “kuru spears” will prevent the associated challenge from counting.
  • Minigame challenges like the archery contest (Hawkeye) and fist game may require completing specific story quests to ensure the champion opponent appears. The archery contest involves a win streak of 3, followed by beating the champion. The
