Learn about the three Sniper Assassin missions in Hitman World of Assassination: The Last Yardbird, The Pen and the Sword, and Crime and Punishment. Includes mission differences and scoring.
There are three missions in Hitman World of Assassination that exclusively use a Sniper Rifle: The Last Yardbird (Himmelstein), The Pen and the Sword (Hantu Port), and Crime and Punishment (Siberia). The latter was released with the second expansion (Expansion Pass).
- 1Each Sniper Assassin mission places you (47) far from the Main Targets.
- 2You must eliminate two to three Main Targets to succeed.
- 3Additionally, fifteen Secondary Targets (Guards accompanying Main Targets) must also be eliminated and their bodies hidden.
- 4If you shoot someone and their body is found, a timer appears above witnesses' heads. You must kill witnesses before the timer expires to contain the situation. If the timer expires, Main Targets will evacuate.
- 5If any Main Targets leave the area, the mission fails. Secondary Targets can leave without failing the mission.
- 6You have a fifteen-minute timer to complete major objectives. Once Main Targets are eliminated and major objectives are met, the timer freezes, allowing you to focus on Secondary Targets.
- 7You start with a basic rifle, which can be upgraded by increasing Mastery Levels, making objectives and Challenges easier.
Mission Differences:
- Bullet Impacts: In regular missions, shooting near someone prompts investigation and alert. In Sniper Assassin missions, repeated shots in the same spot only cause confusion, making bullet impacts useful for luring targets into position.
- Accident Kills: In regular missions, found accident kills are cleaned up. In Sniper Assassin missions, any found body, regardless of kill method, triggers an evacuation, treating accident kills the same as regular bullet kills.
- Fire Extinguishers: In regular missions, exploding fire extinguishers only stun. In Sniper Assassin missions, they kill.
Scoring, Mastery Levels, and Challenges:
- Scoring is based on a point system (kills, headshots, quick multi-kills, bodies hidden) rather than XP. Killing Non-Targets (Civilians) results in penalties.
- Mastery Levels are advanced through points earned from eliminating Targets, not XP. The points required for each level increase significantly as you progress (e.g., 500,000 points from Mastery Level 2 to 3, versus 12,000,000 points from Mastery Level 19 to 20).
- In the first two maps, there is no reward for reaching Mastery Level 20. In Siberia, you receive a new Sniper Rifle for reaching Level 20.
- Completing Challenges grants a Score Multiplier (starting at 1, up to 3) instead of XP.
- Achieving a Silent Assassin rating grants an additional 2x multiplier, potentially reaching a 5x overall score multiplier.
Multiplayer:
- The Sniper Assassin maps are the only part of Hitman World of Assassination with a multiplayer mode.
